Theory of Literature series

The Yale University lectures - something to look at over the summer months! This series by Prof Paul Fry covers a load of topics and I've recently used one lecture to help me grasp the idea of authorship and whether or not the notion of 'author' is relevant in today's society. Seminal texts on this concept are Roland Barthes', "Death of the Author" and Michel Foucault's, "What is an Author". Their theories spread out onto all aspects of literary and artistic culture.
