The Artist:
My focus is on creating abstract and minimalist paintings that explore the relationship between colour, form, and space. I believe that by simplifying the elements in a painting, I can create a more powerful and emotive composition. My goal is to create work that is visually striking, yet also thought-provoking and open to interpretation. The minimalism in my paintings is not a lack of content, but rather a way to distill the most essential elements, leaving room for the viewer to find their own meaning and connection to the work. My abstract paintings are a reflection of my innermost thoughts and feelings, and I hope that they can evoke a similar response in those who view them.
In my work, I strive to push the boundaries of traditional painting techniques, experimenting with different mediums and textures to create a sense of depth and movement. I find inspiration in both the built environment and the natural world, as well as in the work of other artists past and present.
My process is intuitive, starting with a basic idea or feeling and allowing the painting to evolve organically. I often work in layers, building up the surface of the canvas with multiple applications of paint. This allows me to create a sense of depth and movement, as well as to incorporate unexpected elements into the composition.
Overall, my work is a reflection of my ongoing exploration of the fundamental elements of painting and my desire to create work that is both visually striking and emotionally resonant.
