Enamel and Wood with Gilded Lacquered Frame

———

Earlier work ‘Collective Spring’ is a white monochrome set in a simple frame with gilded gold face.

Likely inspired by natural forms and by hikes out in the open air, ‘Collective Spring’ came about by studying the branch patterns of trees silhouetted against the sky. This topic has endlessly fascinated me, and the ways in which trees change during the different seasons has always given me inspiration and new ideas. The plan was to create a series of works similar to this, however I haven’t yet found the time.

Paintings such as these are largely about reinterpretation. Feelings, emotions, sounds, what you see- these are the things that interest the artist and it is how these ideas are conveyed that makes art so enjoyable and dynamic.
