Oil, Plastic, Plaster, and Canvas on Wood

2015

‘Untitled (Circus No. 1)’ is a relief sculpture/painting using a combination of materials. This work is another which I plan to produce a series from. The method in which I made the painting was by heat bending plastic strips which were then adhered to the surface. I then proceeded to fill the voids with a plaster/concrete mix which was then painted black. This painting is significant because of its variety of used materials and I found it interesting producing a work which seemed very dynamic and organic, yet in actual fact is very solid. It is the manipulation of the properties and character of such a material- something I’d like to explore further.

The work is available and ready to hang. All delivery and servicing of the artwork will be dealt with by myself.
